At Nuova Scuola we believe it is time to throw aside tradition and let go of the over thrashed varieties that fill the rows of bottle shops everywhere. Its time to embrace a new way of thinking about wine! We think it is about time more of us get our lips around some locally grown versions of a few of the fantastic old world varieties that the rest of the world has been clued into since ancient times but we have forgotten!​ Try our wines for yourself or even better, join our wine club to receive 2 packs of wine per year and bonus membership benefits.
Who We Are

Stefano and Sarah . . so who are we? Well we are wine lovers from opposite sides of the globe that fell in love with each other and with making our own wines in our own style. We are both qualified winemakers, and after venturing backward and forward working in countries all over the world, making wine, and honing our craft, we have taken the plunge in the beautiful South Burnett, Queensland, moving our family to settle down in this beautiful rural area. As we developed the Nuova Scuola (new school) brand we have been working to discover what varieties can really work in this up and coming region, and we are so excited to be finally making our own wines based on the philosophy of working with the region and with the climate. What we are discovering is how some of the old school varieties may be just what is needed to produce something great.

We began with small parcels fruit which we purchased from local growers, before jumping right in the deep end and purchasing our own property. Our range has grown to include Sparkling Verdelho, Viognier, Maria Gomes, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese, and we are always experimenting with new varieties and styles.
All chosen not only because they are so much better suited to our emerging regions and grow so fantastically in our new world climates but because they are filled with amazing flavours and textures!

Our cellar door tasting room overlooks the stunning Barambah Valley and offers a unique wine tasting experience allowing our customers to chat directly with the winemakers as they taste.

Monday to Friday between 10am and 5pm we offer:
Private tastings in our picturesque cellar door / winery overlooking the vineyard $5/head.

Get the full experience and enjoy a guided vineyard tour, complete with a glass of bubbles in hand as your tour,
followed by a full tasting with winemaker Stefano in our beautiful cellar door, paired with one of our delicious Italian Style "Tagliere" Charcuterie Boards and finished off with a taste of our champion wine of show winning fortified Verdelho
$30/head.

Please note as we are a Mum and Dad operation and that makes us viticulturists, gardeners, winemakers, marketing, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers and cleaners and above all parents. We endeavour to open at every opportunity to service our wonderful customers but there are days we will be unable to open due to other commitments.
In general we will be unavailable for appointments during major wine festivals and limited appointments will be available during our busy harvest period of December / January however we will do our best to accommodate if possible.
