Who We Are

After venturing backward and forward to countries all over the world, making wine and honing our craft, we have taken the plunge in the beautiful South Burnett, Queensland, moving our family to settle down in this beautiful rural area.  We aim to discover what varieties can really work in this up and coming region.  We are so excited to be finally making our own wines based on the philosophy of working with the region and the climate, and discovering how some of the old school varieties may be just what is needed to produce something great.

We began with small parcels of Viognier, Tempranillo, Nebbiolo and Sangiovese which we purchased from local growers, before jumping right in the deep end and purchasing our own property. Our range has grown to also include Maria Gomes, Verdelho, and Pinot Grigio.  All chosen not only because they are filled with amazing flavours and textures, but also because they are so much better suited to our emerging regions and grow so fantastically in our new world climates.  This means less additives, less sprays and more fantastic wine!

The Nuova Scuola Philosophy


At Nuova Scuola we believe it is time to throw aside tradition and let go of the over thrashed varieties that fill the rows of bottle shops everywhere.  Its time to embrace a new way of thinking about wine!  We think it is about time more of us get our lips around some locally grown versions of a few of the fantastic old world varieties that the rest of the world has been clued into since ancient times but we have forgotten!​

Our Food

At our cellar door situated on-site and overlooking the vineyard on our property, we give you the opportunity to add even more to your experience and pair one of our delicious wines with a variety of sharing platters inspired by the Mediterranean countries that are home to the grape varieties we use.  Simplicity is the name of the game: we use fresh ingredients and source as much local produce as we can get our hands on to further show of the amazing place that is the South Burnett. these culinary sensations?

Wine Tasting - 10.30am to 4.30pm

Meals - 11.00am to 2.30pm

Please note as we are a Mum and Dad operation that makes us viticulturists, gardeners, winemakers, marketing, bartenders, cooks, dishwashers and cleaners and above all parents. We endeavour to open at every opportunity to service our wonderful customers but there are days we are unable to due to other commitments. To avoid disappointing anyone I have put up our calendar to ensure everyone can stay up to date with any times we need to close.  Please check it out before booking.
